1929 Isle-of-Man Senior TT machine - Reg No: WX179

In fully restored show winning condition, owned by me since 2011 when I bought it from Paul d’Orleans, “The Vintagent” as a rebuild project.  Rebuild described in Yowl, December 2020 with nine photographs. Winner of The President’s Award at four Gatherings.  It has been a ‘trailer queen’ since restoration, and my ongoing health issues mean that starting and riding it are now out of the question for me but on October 10th this year Kev Bayliss and George Millar visited and fired it up (see video footage on my ‘Scott and Silk Motorcycles’ Facebook post of October 10th).  The market has nose-dived in recent years so I am asking only £29,500 for this fully restored up and running machine.

PARTS

Spares including a second crankcase and cylinder

1927/28? Flyer, partly dismantled, dry stored since the early nineties. ** please refer to letters page **  Everything is located in Schondorf am Ammersee, 40km south of Munich.  Some spares are also available, and include: a second crankcase and cylinder, gearbox, radiator and so on.

Radiator for a 1928 TT Rep made by Minerva Radiators

When I took it off my bike I filled it with glycol and water and the core has not leaked a drop during the years, though there are three small leaks at the top and a few tubes are plugged. I have more photos which show the general condition better than I can describe. Sides and bottom are reasonably flat. No end caps, there are inbuilt tax disc holders instead.

If you are willing to take a chance, simply make me a reasonable offer. More pictures can be taken and sent to interested persons.

Birmingham petrol tank

bought at Scott Gathering some time ago and never used. Black, no petrol cap, photo’s available, £50.  Other assorted spares including pilgrim pump, Silk pump, magneto and Brum Miller headlamp shell; offers invited.

WANTED

For 1929 Flyer nearing completion of rebuild, my ideal would be to collect at the Annual Gathering if possible: radiator in usable condition; split clamp for rear of gearbox tray to frame; gearbox outrigger; 20/21 tooth sprocket; BTH magneto; 21” x 3.00” ribbed front tyre in usable condition; 21” inner tube; for rear brake adjuster: brass knurled adjuster screw, brass rear brake adjuster sleeve.

Petrol tank in good condition for 1932 TT Rep. Distance of fixing bolts is about 615 mm, width of tank is 300 mm. It has concave side walls and holding petrol is more important than paint/dents.  Payment and UK collection will be arranged.
